Alfonso Peters is the only adult street kid I have ever met personally.
His story is remarkable!
Because someone cared about street kids, Alfonso went from living on the streets of Cape Town South Africa to being a pro longboard surfer, invited to represent South Africa to surf the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP open of surfing in Taiwan.
Today Alfonso is a proud father of two beautiful children of his own. He pursues his passion for surfing and having his own surf school, making a difference in the lives of other street kids.
Alfonso's reverberating story is an impeccable example of what impacting the life of street kids can look like.
I am a massive fan of "the under dog". I've seen a tree grow out of a crack in the sidewalk. No one told that seed that it wasn't supposed to be able to grow there.
There are countless street children. When given just the smallest amount of hope in life can grow into the most incredible human beings alive. We don't get to choose who flourishes and who doesn't, but we do get to choose to give hope. Hope is an anchor. You have to be grounded in order to grow. Choose to give hope and let hope grow.
Children are our future. What do we want our future to look like?
I believe that every child is born with purpose and destiny.
If each of us made the smallest contribution, collectively the longterm impact is unimaginably great.
There is greatness in every seed, water it well. x
